In this paper, the author discusses two variants of the essential approximate point spectrum. It is proved that a-Browder's theorem holds for a bounded linear operator \(T\) if and only if \(\sigma_a(T)\backslash \sigma_{SBF^{-}_{+}}(T)= \prod^a(T)\), where \(\sigma_{SBF^{-}_{+}}\) denotes a class of upper semi-B-Fredholm operators, and \(\prod^a(T)\)denotes the set of all left poles of \(T\). Further, it is obtained a condition for the generalized a-Weyl's theorem to hold. Based on this result, he deduces some equivalent statements. Finally, he proves that if \(T^*\) belongs to class A, then a-Weyl's theorem holds for \(f(T)\) for every \(f\in H(\sigma(T))\).
