Let \(f\) be the germ of a holomorphic function and let \(U_f\) be the complement of the discriminant in a semi-universal unfolding of \(f\). Then the fundamental group \(\pi_1(U_f)\) has a representation \(\phi\), which is called the braid monodromy homomorphism, into the braid group \(\mathbf {B}_{\mu}\), where \(\mu\) is the Milnor number. The main result in this paper gives explicit representations of \(\text{Im} \phi\) and \(\pi_1(U_f)\) in case \(f\) is of Brieskorn-Pham type; in fact, generators and relations for both groups are explicitly presented.
