The authors of the paper study systems of parameters over finite fields from a probabilistic perspective. Let us recall that if \(X\) is an \(n\)-dimensional projective scheme, then the sequence of polynomials \(f_{0},\ldots, f_{n}\), satisfying \(X\cap V(f_{0},\ldots, f_{n})=\emptyset\) is called a system of parameters on the homogeneous coordinate ring of \(X\). More generally, if \(k\leq n\) we say that \(f_{0},\ldots, f_{k}\) are parameters on \(X\) if \[ \operatorname{dim}V(f_{0},\ldots,f_{k})\cap X=\operatorname{dim}X-(k+1). \] The authors obtain several results concerning limiting behavior of certain quantities involving probability that randomly chosen set of polynomials are parameters on \(X\). The most general on is contained in Theorem 1.4 in the paper. In particular, by using the adaptation of a result of Poonen, they give the first effective Noether normalization result over a finite field (Theorem 1.5).
