\(L_p\)-dual quermassintegral sums (Q2465130): Difference between revisions

The \(p\)th dual quermassintegral of a convex body \(K\) in \({\mathbb R}^n\) is here defined as \[ \widetilde V_p(K) :=\frac{1}{n} \int_{S^{n-1}} \rho(K,u)^p\,dS(u), \] \(p\in{\mathbb R}\), where \(\rho(K,\cdot)\) is the radial function of \(K\). The author introduces the function \(S_{\widetilde V_p}(K,D):= \widetilde V_p(K) +\widetilde V_p(D)\), \(0<p<\infty\), for pairs \((K,D)\) of convex bodies, and proves various inequalities for it in the case of special argument pairs. One example is the pair \((\Pi^*_j(K_1,\dots,K_{n-1}),\Pi^*_j(D_1,\dots,D_{n-1}))\), where \(\Pi^*_j\) denotes a polar mixed projection body and \(D_1,\dots,D_{n-1}\) are homothetic convex bodies. A Brunn--Minkowski type inequality for \(\widetilde V_p(\Pi^*(K+L))\) is also obtained.
