The author discusses the resurgent properties of WKB solutions of a class of Airy type perturbed differential equations and, as its application, proposes a new proof of the local reduction theorem to the Airy equation near a simple turning point, due to \textit{T. Aoki et al.} [The Bender-Wu analysis and the Voros theory. Special functions, Proc. Hayashibara Forum, Okayama/Jap. 1990, ICM-90 Satell. Conf. Proc., 1--29 (1991; Zbl 0782.35060)], in the framework of resurgence theory. A crucial point of the argument is to construct an integral representation of solutions, analogously to that of the Airy function, by making use of the existence theorem of analytic solutions for a singular partial differential equation associated with the Airy type perturbed differential equation in question. The resurgent properties of WKB solutions are established through the comparison between this integral representation and the Borel-Laplace type integral representation.
