The authors study the structure of the solutions for a class of singular neutral equations arising from aerofoil model problem. The analysis is based on converting the neutral equation problem to Volterra integral equation of the second kind. It is shown that the solutions of the neutral equation can be decomposed into two parts, with one part being a linear combination of known singular functions and the other part being a function with continuous higher order derivatives. Numerical approximation to the solution of the problem using the hybrid collocation method with optimal order of convergence is presented. Application of the results to the aeroelastic model problem is done.
