On the basic representation \(V\) of the untwisted Kac-Moody algebra \(X^{1}_l\), \(X\) the corresponding simple finite dimensional Lie algebra over \(\mathbb{C}\), there exists a unique Hermitian form satisfying the initial conditions, called the Shapovalov form of \(V\). The author calculated the invariant factors of the restriction of this form to the standard lattice \(V_{\mathbb{Z}}\) in \(V\), using techniques on symmetric functions and some reduction procedures. Some explicit formulas are given. Since the relationship between the weight spaces of the basic representation of the Kac-Moody algebra and the blocks of the Grothendieck group of modules for the related Hecke algebra, the results of the paper also gives the invariant factors of the blocks of this Hecke algebra.
