The note under review gives a characterization of scrolls and hyperquadric fibrations in terms of dimension of quadrics that swept out the variety. The proof is very nice and uses Mori Theory of extremal ray as a major tool, an imprecision is corrected in the erratum. It has to be said that the main result improves and greatly simplifies the approach of \textit{Y. Kachi} and \textit{E. Sato} [``Segre's reflexivity and an inductive characterization of hyperquadrics.'' Mem. Am. Math. Soc. 763, 116 p. (2002; Zbl 1039.14016)].
