The author shows improving-of-regularity result in the framework of Sobolev spaces for the weak solutions to singular parabolic partial differential equations of the form \[ {{\partial u}\over {\partial t}}=\text{div\,}{\mathcal A}(x,t,\nabla u),\qquad (x,t)\in\Omega\times(0,T), \] where \(\Omega\subset\mathbb R^n\) is a bounded and open set, and \({\mathcal A}(x,t,\xi)\) is a Carathéodory function satisfying \[ {\mathcal A}(x,t,\xi)\cdot\xi\geq\alpha| \xi| ^p,\qquad |{\mathcal A}(x,t,\xi)| \leq\beta | \xi| ^{p-1} \] with positive constants \(\alpha\leq\beta\) and \(p\in({{2n}\over{n+2}},2].\) The technique adopted is based on suitable estimates for the gradient \(\nabla u\) which satisfies a reverse Hölder inequality near the boundary. The results extend to the singular case \({\mathcal A}(x,t,\nabla u)=| \nabla u| ^{p-1}\nabla u\) as well.
