    Consider the differential-delay equation \[ {d^2x\over db^2}+ a{dx\over dt}+ x= f(k(t-\theta))\tag{\(*\)} \] under the following conditions \[ \begin{gathered} f\in C^\infty(\mathbb{R},\mathbb{R}),\quad f'(x)< 0\quad\forall x\in\mathbb{R},\\ f(x)\to q_1> 0\quad\text{as }x\to-\infty,\\ f(x)\to -q_2< 0\quad\text{as }x\to +\infty,\\ f(x)= -x+ d_1x^2+ d_2x^3+ O(x^4)\quad\text{as }x\to 0,\\ a>\sqrt{2},\quad {1\over\theta}= \varepsilon<<1,\quad k= 1+\varepsilon^2\gamma,\quad \gamma>0.\end{gathered} \] The authors study existence and stability of periodic solutions of \((*)\) which bifurcate from the zero solution as the parameter \(\gamma\) increases. For this purpose, they transform \((*)\) into a singularly perturbed differential-delay equation and apply the method of quasinormal form and asymptotic expansion in \(\varepsilon\).
