The authors study the regularity of solutions to regular shock reflection for potential flows. The shock reflection problem is described. The regularity of solutions to a class of nonlinear degenerate elliptic equations near the degenerate boundary with Dirichlet data is studied. It is shown that \(C^{1,1}\) regularity is in some sense optimal for the solution across the pseudo-sonic circle. Also \(C^{2,\alpha}\) regularity is obtained. Existence and regularity results hold not only for the polytropic case \(\gamma>1\), but also for the isothermal case \(\gamma=1\).
