The author identifies those univariate specializations of Appell's functions \(F_2\), \(F_3\), \(F_4\) that can be expressed in terms of the Gauss' hypergeometric function \({_2F_1}\). The computational aspects and interesting identities are also discussed. In Appendix A, a couple of relevant facts about ordinary Fuchsian equations are recalled and identities betweeen Appell's and Gauss' hypergeometric functions existing in literature are briefly reviewed.
