Basing on a combinatorial result of \textit{G. E. Andrews} [Pac. J. Math. 95, 251--256 (1981; Zbl 0514.10007)], the authors construct minimal injective resolutions of certain unstable modules which appear as mod \(2\) cohomology of Thom spectra. The terms of those resolutions are tensor products of Brown-Gitler and Steinberg modules [\textit{S. A.\ Mitchell} and \textit{S. B.\ Priddy}, Topology 22, 285--298 (1983; Zbl 0526.55010)]. Homotopical applications as ``Segal conjecture'' type results, are presented. No proofs are given.
