A bundle-like metric \(g\) for a Riemannian foliation \(\mathcal F\) on a manifold \(M\) has a transverse plus tangential decomposition \(g = g^\perp \oplus g_{\mathcal F}\). Define the family of metrics \(g_h = h^{-2}g_\perp \oplus g_{\mathcal F}\) for \(h>0\). The parameter \(h\) is called the adiabatic parameter, and the limit of the Riemannian manifolds \((M,g_h)\) as \(h \downarrow 0\) is known as the adiabatic limit of the foliation. This limit was studied previously by \textit{J. A. Álvarez López} and \textit{Y. A. Kordyukov} in [Geom. Funct. Anal. 10, No. 5, 977--1027 (2000; Zbl 0965.57024)] and by \textit{V. Slesar} in [Ann. Global Anal. Geom. 32, No. 1, 87--101 (2007; Zbl 1123.53013)]. In the paper under review, the author describes the classical Weitzenböck formula as polynomial in \(h\). For the tangential part, he obtains a vanishing result for the first order term of a spectral sequence associated to the foliation. For the transverse part, he generalizes a formula for basic forms proved by \textit{M. Min-Oo, E. A. Ruh} and \textit{P. Tondeur} in [J. Reine Angew. Math. 415, 167--174 (1991; Zbl 0716.53032)].
