The authors study the following mixed inverse spectral problem: given the first \(2l-k-1\) Verblunsky parameters of a \(2l\times 2l\) CMV matrix \(\mathcal{C}\) and \(2k\) eigenvalues of the same matrix, determine \(\mathcal{C}\). The authors provide a sufficient condition for the uniqueness of the solution and show how to construct \(\mathcal{C}\). Their technique uses a result on interpolation by rational functions established in Section 2. This article does not contain the definition of a CMV matrix nor does it review any basic theory. An excellent preliminary reference is the article by \textit{B. Simon} [J. Comput. Appl. Math. 208, No. 1, 120--154 (2007; Zbl 1125.15027)]. The authors attribute the first study of a mixed inverse spectral problem to \textit{H. Hochstadt} and \textit{B. Lieberman} [SIAM J. Appl. Math. 34, 676--680 (1978; Zbl 0418.34032)].
