\textit{Y.-F. Jing} and \textit{T.-Z. Huang} [J. Comput. Appl. Math. 220, No.~1--2, 74--84 (2008; Zbl 1159.65037)] have presented a new iterative method for the solution of linear systems. In the present paper this method is generalised to a three-dimensional projection process. Furthermore, a different approach from [loc. cit.] is described.
