A systematic study of quasisymmetric embeddings did not exist until Tukia and Väisälä started it. After then, J. Heinonen found numerous invariants for quasisymmetric maps. Its effect on distorting dimensions has caught broad attention. The authors construct a quasisymmetric map which links up two symbolic spaces, and prove that the coding map, when applied to a self-similar set under a strong separation condition, is a quasisymmetrically equivalent one; and all self-similar sets satisfying this condition are quasisymmetrically equivalent to another.
