All spaces are considered over a complete non-Archimedean (n.A.) valued field \(\mathbb K. \) It was shown by \textit{N.\,De Grande-De Kimpe, J.\,Kakol, C.\,Perez-García} and \textit{W.\,H.\thinspace Schikhof} [Lect.\ Notes Pure Appl.\ Math.\ 192, 159--222 (1997; Zbl 0889.46063)] that no \(LB\)-space and no strict \(LF\)-space is metrizable. The aim of this paper is to show that, in spite of this negative result, there are a lot of metrizable \(LF\)-spaces. The author shows that a Fréchet space \(E\) contains a dense subspace which is an \(LF\)-space in the following situations: {\parindent=4mm \begin{itemize}\item[{\(\bullet\)}] \(E\) has a Schauder basis \((x_n)\) or, more generally, an infinite topological basis \((x_\alpha);\) \item[{\(\bullet\)}] \(E\) has an infinite-dimensional quotient of countable type; \item[{\(\bullet\)}] \(E=C(X),\) where \(X\) is an infinite, compact, 0-dimensional Hausdorff topological space; \item[{\(\bullet\)}] \(E\) is a non-normable polar Fréchet space; \item[{\(\bullet\)}] \(E\) is an arbitrary infinite-dimensional Fréchet space over a discretely n.A. valued field \(\mathbb K\). \end{itemize}}
