[For part I, see \textit{L. Barker}, Commun. Algebra 39, No.~1, 355--395 (2011; Zbl 1211.19001).] For a finite group \(G\), let \(B(G)\) be the Burnside ring of \(G\), \(B^*(G)= \text{Hom}_{\mathbb{Z}} (B(G), \mathbb{Z})\) the dual of \(B(G)\) and \(A_{\mathbb{R}}(G)\) the Grothendieck ring of \(\mathbb{R}G\)-modules. Moreover, let \(K(G)\) denote the kernel of the linearization map \(B(G) \to A_{\mathbb{R}}(G)\). If \(\pi\) is a set of primes then the Tornehave map is a homomorphism \(\text{torn}^\pi_G : K(G) \to B^*(G)\). Now let \(p\) be a prime. Viewing \(K\) and \(B^*\) as functors on finite \(p\)-groups commuting with induction, restriction, inflation and isomorphisms, the author characterizes \(\text{torn}^p\) as a morphism between such functors. Moreover, he points out a connection to the subfunctor \(D^{\Omega}\) of the Dade group functor \(D\) defined by relative syzygies. And he relates \(\text{torn}^{\pi}\) to the Burnside unit group functor \(B^\times\).
