The authors prove the following result: Let \(M,\,N\geq 0\). Then the following two trigonometric polynomials \[ \sum_{l}\Big({M+N \atop M-kl}\Big)^{2}\,\cos(lx)\quad \text{if}\;\;|M-N|\leq k, \] \[ \sum_{l}\Big({M+N \atop M-kl}\Big)\,\Big({M+N \atop N-kl}\Big)\,\cos(lx) \] are polynomials in \(1+\cos(x)\) with nonnegative integral coefficients. The authors also present the sine analogue of the above result as well as its extension to sums of Jacobi polynomials.
