The author studies the existence of homoclinic solutions for the following non-autonomous Hamiltonian system: \[ \frac{d^2q}{dt^2}-L(t)q+W(t,q)=0, \] with \(L\) a continuous, symmetric and positive definite matrix and \(W\) an asymptotically quadratic potential at infinity and superquadratic at the origin. Within the assumption that the potential \(W\) is not periodic in \(t\) and four other technical conditions on \(L\) and \(W\) are satisfied, the authors prove that the non-autonomous Hamiltonian system admits at least one nontrivial homoclinic solution. The proof is based on a version of the Mountain Pass Theorem.
