\texttt{Normaliz} is a programme for the computation of Hilbert bases of ratinal cones and the normalizations of affine monoids (available from \texttt{http://www.math.uos.de/normaliz}). Such cones can be described equivalently by homogeneous linear diophantine equations and inequalities, and the computation of the normalization is equivalent to solve such systems. For the mathematical aspects of Normaliz, [cf. \textit{W. Bruns, R. Koch}, Zesz. Nauk. Uniw. Jagiell. 1255, Univ. Iagell. Acta Math. 39, 59-70 (2001; Zbl 1006.20045)]. In the paper algorithms are presented which have been added in version 2.0 and later. The distribution of Normaliz contains a \textsc{Singular} library and a Macaulay 2 package.
