The mask of a pseudo spline of type I with order \((N,l)\) is the square root of \[ \cos^{2N}(\cdot/2)P_{N,l}(\sin^2(\cdot/2)),\quad P_{N,l}(x)=\sum_{j=0}^l{N-1+j\choose j}x^j, \] using the Fejér--Riesz lemma. First of all, the authors prove that \(P_{N,l}>0\) for all \(x\in\mathbb R\) if and only if \(l\) is an even number. Then, using the representation \[ P_{N,l}(x)=[P^{\mathrm r}(x)]^2+[P^{\mathrm i}(x)]^2, \] with the unique polynomials with real coefficients \(P^{\mathrm r},P^{\mathrm i},\) such that \(P^{\mathrm r}(0)=1,\) and \(P^{\mathrm i}(0)=0,\) they define the mask of complex pseudo splines. The corresponding biorthogonal wavelet system is constructed. The Riesz basis property is studied, symmetric or antisymmetric complex tight framelets with desired approximation order are constructed.
