In this note, the two authors using the known notions of monotonically normal spaces and monotonically countably metacompact spaces, answer a question posed by \textit{M. R. Bennett}, \textit{K. P. Hart} and \textit{D. J. Lutzer} in [Topology Appl. 157, No. 2, 456--465 (2010; Zbl 1184.54023)]. They prove that a monotonically normal space that is monotonically countably metacompact must be hereditarily paracompact. The authors also show that any compact monotonically meta-Lindelöf \(T\)-space is first countable. By this fact some already known conclusions are generalized. Finally, they point out that there is a gap in Proposition 3.8 which appears in the above-mentioned paper and they give a detailed proof of how to overcome this gap.
