The author studies Sobolev-type equations of second order in time. This system describes the explosive instability in plasma accounting for the strong space-time dispersion and nonlinear dependence of polarizability on the electric field strength. Existence of a local solution is proved, with using of a modification of the energy method by Levine. Finally, the author shows blowup of such solution.
