Let \(\mathcal L\) be a second order differential operator, which is self-adjoint with respect to a certain measure. Assume, there is a decomposition \({\mathcal L}=\sum_{i=1}^d \delta_i^* \delta_i\) in terms of some first order differential operators \(\delta_i\) and \(\delta_i^*\). There is a definition of associated Riesz transform associated to such a decomposition for \(\mathcal L\) and its eigenfunctions, which were proposed in the paper [\textit{A. Nowak} and \textit{K. Stempak}, J. Fourier Anal. Appl. 12, No. 6, 675--711 (2006; Zbl 1193.42065)]. The paper under review employs this construction for \(\mathcal L\) being the Laguerre operator. The authors prove the weak-type (1,1) and \(L ^{p }, 1<p<\infty \), boundedness of the corresponding Riesz transforms, with respect to the Laguerre measure.
