Radial basis function methods are highly suitable for multivariate interpolation, approximation and specifically for quasi-interpolation. Approximations from these spaces can provide very good approximation orders because, if infinitely many shifts of the radial basis kernels are used, polynomials are recovered in the spaces and can be used for creating approximants with high approximation orders. In this paper, quasi-interpolation formulae which create these polynomial reproduction are generated in a recursive way, beginning with a quasi-interpolant which only reproduces linear polynomials. Some special cases and examples are provided at the end of the paper to illustrate the theory.
