For a hyperplane arrangement \({\mathcal A}\), a map \(\mu: {\mathcal A} \to {\mathbb N}\) is called a multiplicity and a pair \(({\mathcal A}, \mu)\) is called a multiarrangement. If the multiarrangements are considered in a two dimensional vector space, then the term 2-multiarrangement is used. Multiarrangements were introduced in [\textit{G. M. Ziegler}, Contemp. Math. 90, 345--359 (1989; Zbl 0678.51010)]. To each multiarrangement \(({\mathcal A}, \mu)\) one can associate an \(S\)-module, called the derivation module. One may consider the exponents of the derivation module, which is a multiset. It was shown by \textit{M. Wakefield} and \textit{S. Yuzvinsky} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 359, No. 9, 4389--4403 (2007; Zbl 1121.52036)] that the general description of the exponents of 2-multiarrangements is very difficult. The authors introduce the concept of the multiplicity lattice of a fixed hyperplane arrangement. They determine the combinatorics and geometry of the lattice, and give a criterion and method to construct a basis for derivation modules effectively.
