Boundary control problems are first studied in terms of classical solutions of the wave equation. The transition to generalized solutions is done by passage to the limit in the corresponding integral identity. On a relatively long time interval, from the infinite set of boundary controls, one that minimizes a boundary energy integral is chosen.
