Let \((X,d)\) be a cone metric space over a regular cone \(P\) and \(\preceq\) be the respective order. \(x\ll y\) stands for \(y-x\in \operatorname{int}P\). A function \(\xi:\operatorname{int}P\cup\{\theta\}\to[0,1)\) (resp., \(\phi:\operatorname{int}P\cup\{\theta\}\to\operatorname{int}P\cup\{\theta\}\)) is called a stronger (resp., weaker) Meir-Keeler cone-type mapping if, for each \(\eta\in\operatorname{int}P\), there exists \(\delta\in\operatorname{int}P\) such that, for \(x,y\in X\) with \(\eta\preceq d(x,y)\ll\delta+\eta\), there exists \(\gamma_{\eta}\in[0,1)\) such that \(\xi(d(x,y))<\gamma_{\eta}\) (resp., there exists \(n_0\in\mathbb{N}\) such that \(\phi^{n_0}(d(x,y))\ll\eta\)). A sequence \(\{f_n\}\) of mappings \(f_n:X\to X\) is called an asymptotic SMK-sequence with respect to \(\xi\) (resp., an asymptotic WMK-sequence with respect to \(\phi\)) if there exists \(\alpha\in\mathbb{N}\) such that \(d(f_i^{\alpha}x,f_j^{\alpha}y)\preceq\xi(d(x,y))d(x,y)\) (resp., \(d(f_i^{\alpha}x,f_j^{\alpha}y)\preceq\phi(d(x,y))\)) for all \(x,y\in X\) and \(i,j\in\mathbb{N}\). The author proves that each SMK-sequence of mappings on a complete cone metric space has a unique common fixed point. The same is true for a WMK-sequence under additional assumptions on the function~\(\phi\). Examples are presented to show how these results can be used. Note that attribute ``ordered'' in the title is redundant since no order on the space \(X\) is assumed.
