The paper deals with Herstein's problem on Lie homomorphisms in associative superalgebras. The description of Lie isomorphisms of prime associative algebras given by M. Bresǎr in 1993 has been approached in two recent papers, one in 2009 by \textit{Y. Wang} [Commun. Algebra 37, No. 12, 4193-4226 (2009; Zbl 1247.16021)] and the second in 2010 by the first two authors of the paper under review [in part I, Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 138, No. 2, 417-425 (2010; Zbl 1221.16029)]. As pointed out by the authors, both viewpoints present some drawbacks which come either from a certain lost of information when one passes from the associative superalgebra to its Grassmann envelope, or from the nature of the functional identities in superalgebras which do not work in superalgebras whose odd elements are algebraic of a certain bounded degree. In the present paper the authors propose a third which gives a definitive answer for central simple associative superalgebras: If \(A\) is a central simple associative superalgebra over \(F\) such that \(\dim(A)\neq 2,4\), then every Lie superautomorphism \(\varphi\) of \(A\) is of the form \(\varphi=\theta+\tau\) where \(\theta\) is either a superautomorphism or the negative of a superantiautomorphism of \(A\) and \(\tau\) is a linear map from \(A\) to \(F\) vanishing on supercommutators.
