The paper under review deals with generalising some basic results on minimal presentations of monoids satisfying the ascending chain condition on principal ideals, generalising known results for finitely generated monoids. In particular relating to the Betti numbers and the notion of glueing. It also gives a criterion for a set to be a presentation of a monoid and a numerical result, giving a formula for the cardinality of a given minimal presentation. As an example of their results, we mention that if \(S\) is the glueing of \(S_1\) and \(S_2\) along \(d\), then \(S\) being uniquely presented can be reduced to the question of \(S_1\) and \(S_2\) being uniquely presented and a small condition on \(d\). One small remark would be that the notion of glueing is different from that used in monoidal schemes.
