The main purpose of this article is to provide optimal Sobolev-type improvements to the multidimensional sharp Hardy inequality in \(\mathbb{R}^n\). The improvement is made first by replacing the \(L^p\)-norm of the length of the gradient in the Sobolev inequality for the case \(p> n\geq 1\) with the sharp \(L^p\) Hardy difference. The corresponding result of Morrey-type is possible only after considering a logarithmic correction weight for which the sharp exponent is obtained. In place of symmetrization techniques of proof, here multidimensional arguments, and in particular a Sobolev's integral representation formula is used. By adding an optimal weighted seminorm, a local improvement is first obtained. The results are, however, too complicated to be stated here.
