Let \(R\) be a complete local hypersurface over an algebraically closed field of characteristic different from 2, and suppose that \(R\) has countable Cohen-Macaulay (CM) representation type, namely, there exist infinitely but only countably many isomorphism classes of indecomposable maximal Cohen-Macaulay (MCM) \(R\)-modules. Then \(R\) is isomorphic to \(k[[x_0,x_1,x_2,\ldots ,x_d]]/(f)\), where \(f\) is either \(({A}^d_{\infty})\) or \(({D}^d_{\infty})\) [\textit{G.-M. Greuel} and \textit{H. Kröning}, Math. Z. 203, No. 2, 339--354 (1990; Zbl 0715.14001)]. In this paper, it is proved that the MCM \(R\)-modules which are locally free on the punctured spectrum are dominated by the MCM \(R\)-modules which are not locally free on the punctured spectrum. More precisely, there exists a single \(R\)-module \(X_R\) such that the indecomposable MCM \(R\)-modules not locally free on the punctured spectrum are \(X_R\) and its syzygy \(\Omega X_R\) and that any other MCM \(R\)-modules are obtained from extensions of \(X_R\) and \(\Omega X_R\). The authors also calculate the Grothendieck groups of the category \(\mathrm{CM}(R)\) of MCM \(R\)-modules and its stable category \(\underline{\mathrm{CM}}(R)\), and prove that the triangulated category \(\underline{\mathrm{CM}}(R)\) has dimension 1 in the sense of \textit{R. Rouquier} [K-Theory 1, No. 2, 193--256; Erratum ibid. 257--258 (2008; Zbl 1165.18008)].
