The author studies a new two-parameter family of immersed helicoidal surfaces that rotate/translate with constant velocity under the flow (Section 4). In Section 5, the classical helicoidal minimal surfaces described by \textit{W. Wunderlich} [Compos. Math. 10, 297--311 (1952; Zbl 0047.40502)] are presented. Section 6 is devoted to the classical constant mean curvature helicoidal surfaces, studied by \textit{M. P. do Carmo} and \textit{M. Dajczer} [Tohoku Math. J., II. Ser. 34, 425--435 (1982; Zbl 0501.53003)], and \textit{L. R. Hitt} and \textit{I. M. Roussos} [An. Acad. Bras. Ciênc. 63, No. 3, 211--228 (1991; Zbl 0803.53010)]. The classification of immersed cylinders in this family of surfaces is obtained in Theorem 6.1 in the spirit given by \textit{U. Abresch} and \textit{J. Langer} [J. Differ. Geom. 23, 175--196 (1986; Zbl 0592.53002)].
