The authors considered the general decay of solutions for a Timoshenko beam with thermal effect and memory conditions working at the boundary. Precisly speaking, they considered the following system of equations: \[ \begin{aligned}\rho_1\varphi_{tt}&=k(\varphi_x+\psi)_x\;\;\text{ in } ]0,l[\times]0,\infty[, \\ \rho_2\psi_{tt}&=\bar\omega\psi_{xx}-k(\varphi_x+\psi)-\beta\theta_x\;\;\text{ in }\;\;]0,l[\times]0,\infty[, \\ \rho_3\theta_t&=k\theta_{xx}-\beta\psi_{xt}\;\;\text{ in }\;\;]0,l[\times]0,\infty[,\\ (\varphi,\varphi_t,\psi,\psi_t,\theta)(x,0)&=(\phi_0,\phi_1,\psi_0,\psi_1,\theta_0)(x) \;\;x\in[0,l],\\ \varphi(0,t)=\psi(0,t)&=\theta(0,t)=\theta(l,t)=0,\;\;t\geq 0 \\ \rho(l,t)&=-k\intop_0^tg_1(t-s)(\phi_x+\psi)(l,s)ds\;t>0,\\ \psi(l,t)&=-\bar\omega\intop_0^tg_2(t-s)\psi_x(l,s)ds,\;\;t>0,\end{aligned} \] where \(l\) is the length in the equilibrium configuration, \(\psi\) is the transverse displacement of the beam, \(\varphi\) is the notation angle of the filament of the beam. The authors proved an exponential decay or polynomial decay result under some conditions on \(g_i\) (where \(i=1,2\)). In the proof they used the multiplier technique.
