\textit{S. Janson} and \textit{J. Peetre} [Math. Nachr. 132, 313--328 (1987; Zbl 0644.47026)] introduced Hankel operators of higher order. The author of the paper under review relates such operators to the universal enveloping algebra of the Lie algebra of vector fields. Then he obtains an explicit representation of higher order Hankel operators that involve differential operators.
