The author obtains and proves a modification of the Lax-Milgram theorem by dropping the linearity assumption and by imposing a mild regularity condition. For the reader's convenience, the major result obtained is reproduced below. Suppose that \(H\) is a real Hilbert space and \(B:H\times H \rightarrow \mathbb{R}\) is a map satisfying the following conditions (a) \(B(u,.)\) is sublinear for every \(u\in H;\) (b) \(B(.,v)\) is superadditive for every \(v\in H\); (c1) If \(B(u,v)\geq 0\) for some \(u\in H\) and for each \(v\in H\), then \(u=0\); (c2) If \(B(u,v)=0\) for every \(u\in H\) and for some \(v\in H\), then \( v=0\); (d) \(B\) is bounded from above on some nonempty open subset of \( H\times H\). Then there exists a bounded linear map \(T:H\rightarrow H\) such that (i) \(T\) is injective; (ii) the image of \(T\) is dense in \(H\); (iii) \((Tu\mid v)\leq B(u,v)\) for all \(u,v\in H\).
