Let \(\omega(G)\) denote the set of element orders of a finite group \(G\), the group \(S\) is said to be recognizable by the set of element orders if \(\omega(G)=\omega(S)\), implies that \(G\) is isomorphic to \(S\). In the paper under review the authors show that the finite simple group \(G_2(q)\) is recognizable by the set of element orders.
