The author proves a theorem concerning the solvability and uniform estimate of the solution in the norm of the space for a operator equation in a reflexive Banach space. The case considered is of a nonlinear nonmonotone hemicontinuous operator and the method is related (with some differences) to the method of semimonotone operators. A specific example is analyzed in detail.
