Existence and stability of traveling waves for unidirectionally coupled nonlinear oscillators on a ring is analyzed in this paper. The waves are interpreted as periodic solutions of an auxiliary delay differential equation, for which the linear stability analysis is performed. The theory is illustrated with the detailed analysis of a class of coupled oscillator models, which includes the Hopfield neural network.
