The central result of the paper is the computation of the BV algebra and the Gerstenhaber structure on the Hochschild cohomology \(H\!H^*(A)\) when \(A = \mathbb Z[x]/x^{n+1}\) and \(| x| = 2\). As a consequence, using the Menichi result on the loop structure of \(\mathbb H_*(LS^2;\mathbb Z)\), Tian Yang shows that as BV-algebras, \(\mathbb H_*(LS^2;\mathbb Z)\) and \(H\!H^*(C^*(S^2);\mathbb Z)\) are not isomorphic, but the induced Gerstenhaber structures are. Over the rationals, the computations given by Yang give a direct description of the BV-structure on the rational loop homology of a projective space.
