The highly nonlinear \textit{fin equation} reads: \[ y^{\prime \prime}+\frac{K^{\prime}(y)}{K(y)}(y^{\prime})^2-\frac{H(y)}{K(y)}=0, \] where \(K\) and \(H\) are the thermal conductivity and heat transfer coefficient, respectively, and \(y=y(x)\) is the temperature function with \(x\) as one-dimensional spatial variable. This paper gives a classification of its Noether point symmetries by using a partial Lagrangian approach. For each case there are presented new first integrals and some invariant solutions.
