The authors consider the nonlinear elliptic equation \[ -\nabla\cdot a(x,u,Du) =f(x)\text{, }x\in\Omega \] subject to the boundary condition \[ u(x) =0\text{, }x\in\partial\Omega. \] Here \(\Omega\subseteq\mathbb{R}^{N}\), for \(N\geq2\), is a bounded region and \(f\in L^{m(x)}(\Omega)\) for some measurable function \(m\). The authors consider existence of solution to this problem by considering a sequence of solutions to approximate problems, whose solutions then converge in the limit to a solution of the original problem.
