The wide scope of sheaf theory is not exempt of limitations and difficulties regarding to the explicit construction of objects which are essential to handling problems in this framework. That is the case of products in the category \(\mathfrak{D}\mathfrak{coh}(X)\) of quasi-coherent sheaves on an arbitrary scheme \(X\). In this paper, the author gives an explicit description of ``the product object of a family of locally torsion-free objects in \(\mathfrak{D}\mathfrak{coh}(X)\), for an integral scheme \(X\)''. Several applications are presented, like a torsion theory of finite type in \(\mathfrak{D}\mathfrak{coh}(X)\) induced by locally torsion free objects in \(\mathfrak{D}\mathfrak{coh}(X)\), which requires the non-trivial task of prove that the class of locally torsion-free objects in \(\mathfrak{D}\mathfrak{coh}(X)\) is closed under products. Since for a Dedekind scheme \(X\), the class Flat\((X)\) of flat objects of \(\mathfrak{D}\mathfrak{coh}(X)\) coincide with the class of torsion-free quasi-coherent sheaves, it will follows that Flat\((X)\) is also closed under arbitrary direct products. The paper ends with the proof that locally torsion free covers exist in \(\mathfrak{D}\mathfrak{coh}(X)\). I consider that this paper is a necessary reading for those who work in the framework of sheaf theory. Indeed, this paper not only contains essential results, but they are also presented in a very clear and detailed way.
