\textit{P. Alfeld} [Comput. Aided Geom. Des. 1, 169--181 (1984; Zbl 0566.65003)] introduced a tetrahedral analog \(AS (\Delta_3)\) of the Clough-Tocher split of a triangle. A formula for the dimension of the spline space \(C^r_k(AS(\Delta_n))\) is conjectured by \textit{S. Foucart} and \textit{T. Sorokina} [``Generating dimension formulas for multivariate splines'', Albanian J. Math. 7, 25--35 (2013)]. Hal Schenck proved in this article that the graded module of \(C^r\)-splines on the cone over \(AS(\Delta_n)\) is isomorphic to the module \(D^{r+1}(A_n)\) of multiderivations on the type \(A_n\) Coxeter arrangement. A theorem of \textit{H. Terao} [Invent. Math. 148, No. 3, 659--674 (2002; Zbl 1032.52013)] is used which shows that the module of multiderivations of a Coxeter arrangement is free and gives an explicit basis. It is proved that the conjectured formula of Foucart and Sorokina [loc. cit.] is a consequence of the theorem of Terao [loc. cit.].
