A closed subset of a metric separable space is said to be a \(Z\)-set provided that if one removes it from a non empty homotopically trivial open set, then the rest of the open set (after the removal) remains a homotopically trivial open set. The notion of \(Z\)-set was introduced and investigated by R. D. Anderson in terms of the Hilbert cube manner which can be transferred to the cases of separable infinite-dimensional Fréchet spaces, in this \(l_2\). Equivalent definitions of \(Z\)-sets can be found in the paper \textit{H. Toruńczyk} [Fundam. Math. 66, 393--401 (1970; Zbl 0199.43505)]. Anderson's result ``If \(\Omega\) is \(l_2\) or the Hilbert cube, then every homeomorphism between two \(Z\)-sets in \(\Omega\) can be extended to a homeomorphism of \(\Omega\) onto itself'' is applied in a functorial manner for \(\Omega\) being \(l_2\) or the Hilbert cube.
