In the context of \(q\)-uniformly smooth Banach spaces, the authors prove the convergence of a scheme that extends Yamada's hybrid steepest-descent method and Moudafi's viscosity approximation in their complete forms. The results are applied to minimize a convex function over the fixed-point set of a nonexpansive mapping.
