Summary: In 1844 Liouville constructed the first example of a transcendent number \(\ell = \sum_{n\geq 1}10^{-n!}\). Almost hundred years later \textit{K. Mahler} [J. Reine Angew. Math. 166, 118--136 (1931; Zbl 0003.15101)] proposed to subdivide the real numbers into four classes, according to their properties of approximation by algebraic numbers. He split the set of transcendental numbers into three disjoint sets, named \(S\)-, \(T\)- and \(U\)-numbers. The \(U\)-numbers generalize the concept of Liouville numbers. \textit{LeVeque} noticed in [J. Lond. Math. Soc. 28, 220--229 (1953; Zbl 0053.36203)], that the \(U\)-numbers can be further split into the \(U_m\) classes, according to their properties of approximation of algebraic number of degree \(m\). In the present paper, the authors construct \(U_m\) numbers as a product of \(\ell\) with some algebraic numbers of degree \(m\).
