Let \(q\) be a nonzero element of a field \(k\) which is not a root of 1. Among the primitive factor algebras of Gelfand-Kirillov dimension 2 of the positive part \(U^+_q(\mathfrak{so}_5)\) are the algebras \(A_{\alpha,q}\) which are generated by elements \(e_1,e_2,e_3\) with defining relations \[ e_1e_3=q^{-2}e_3e_1;\quad e_2e_3=q^2e_3e_2+\alpha;\quad e_2e_1=q^{-2}e_1e_2-q^{-2}e_3; \] \[ e_2^2+(q^4-1)e_3e_1e_2+\alpha q^2(q^2+1)e_1=0. \] Here \(\alpha\in k^*\). The main result of the paper shows that every endomorphism of \(A_{\alpha,q}\) is an automorphism. A generalized quantum Weyl algebra \(A(a(h),q)\) in the sense of V. Bavula where \(a(h)\in k[h^{\pm 1}]\) is generated by elements \(x,y\) subject to defining relations \[ xh=qhx,\quad yh=q^{-1}hy,\quad xy=a(qh),\quad yx=a(h). \] If \(q\in k^*\) is not a root of 1, then every endomorphism of \(A_{\alpha,q}\) is also an automorphism.
